David developed an interest in photography while in high school. His father was an enthusiastic amateur photographer and his grandfather was a professional photographer for a time. In 1976 he began his career in advertising photography, and in 1986 began working on his own. At the time his specialty was architectural and interior photography with an emphasis on the hotel and resort industry.

David then decided to shift his focus to photographing people. Today he works for corporations, advertising agencies and magazines all over the country. His advertising clients include: America West Airlines, Apple Computer, Bank Of America, Compaq Computers, Qwest and Del Webb Corporation.
