Photographers Dave Leprozo and Ruel Bimuyag of Baguio, the Philippines came to Phoenix in November, 2007 to make pictures for the first-ever photographic exchange with Through Each Others Eyes.
TEOE photographers Bob Rink and Ken Ross hosted their guests and assisted as they photographed the life and landscape of Arizona. The Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, the Navajo Reservation, Flagstaff and Jerome were among the places visited.
Ross and Rink traveled to the Philippines in the Spring of 2008 to photograph Baguio, a city of 250,000 in the northern mountains of Luzon, about 150 miles from Manila.
The participants stayed at each other's homes while traveling abroad, making the experience a rich cultural exchange that is about far more than just making pictures.
Each photographer will feature 20 prints in the resulting exhibit, presenting images of how two cultures perceive one another. The exhibit opening is planned for Autumn 2008 in Arizona. Details about exhibit dates in the Philippines are upcoming.
Through Each Others Eyes is a non-profit organization which sponsors photographic exchange exhibitions in nine countries around the world. Visit the World Gallery to view images made by TEOE photographers of their travels to the participating exchange cities.
