5th Mexico Exchange Exhibition
The exhibit features images from TEOE photographers Maurice Sartirana and Dennis Scully with Mexican photographer Antonio Rodriguez of Hermosillo, Sonora.
The exhibit opened on October 5th, 2007 at the Levine Machine on east Grant St. in Phoenix as part of the First Friday Artwalk and was featured there throughout the weekend.
It was then shown at the main branch of Wells Fargo bank in downtown Phoenix from October 8th through October 26th, 2007. The exhibit traveled to Mexico in the Spring of 2008 and will be featured in September 2008 as a fotoseptiembre event.
In February 2007, Scully and Sartirana traveled to Hermosillo, Kino Bay, Guaymas, Álamos, and the villages along the Sonora River to capture life in our Mexican sister state of Sonora. TEOE then invited photographers Rodriguez and Maldonado to Arizona to to complete the exchange in late May 2007.
Through Each Others Eyes sponsors photographic exchange exhibitions in nine countries around the world. This is the 5th exchange between photographers in Phoenix and Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Each photographer will show 20 prints in the exhibit, giving us a glimpse of how two cultures perceive one another.
