Meeting in a retreat setting in the Mogollon Rim community of Pine, the photographers and board members of Through Each Others Eyes planned their exhibitions and service projects for the coming year

Visual Color labs will provide each family a packet of pictures, similar to those given to the Pappas students. UMOM is the largest homeless shelter for families in Arizona, providing not only shelter and meals, but also tools and programs to build a bridge to self-sufficiency.

May 12, 2009: Benefit Concert for Abruzzo Earthquake Victims
A Benefit Concert is being held for the victims of the recent
earthquake in Italy. This special event features the singing of Sicilian
tenor Giuseppe Ranzani and also Ciro Giorgio.
Also at the Benefit Concert, Through Each Other's Eyes photographer, Karen Shell, will be displaying photographs made during the TEOE exchange with Catania, a Phoenix Sister City since 2001.

May 2 - 15, 2009: 1st TEOE Exchange with Scotland Exhibition
In spring 2008, Scottish photographers Caroline Parkinson and Nigel Webster visited Arizona to start the inaugural TEOE exchange with Scotland. Then, in October 2008, TEOE Associates Richard Maack and Jim Marshall traveled to Scotland to document the sights and culture there.
Join us for this cultural celebration between Arizona and Scotland, where the photographic exhibit will feature 20 prints from each photographer. For the first time in TEOE history, the ready-to-hang matted and framed exhibition prints will be for sale for $300 each at the exhibit opening.

Then, in February 2008, TEOE photographers Bob Rink and Ken Ross, traveled to the Philippines to photograph Baguio, a city of 250,000 in the northern mountains of Luzon, about 150 miles from Manila.

Hosted by TEOE photographers, Richard Maack and Jim Marshall, Scottish photographers visited Arizona to begin the inaugural Scotland exchange by capturing images of the Grand Canyon state. Richard and Jim will travel to Scotland in the fall to document the sights and culture there.

For the past ten years the photographers of Through Each Others Eyes have taken pictures of all the students at the three campuses of the Thomas J. Pappas schools for homeless children. Under the sponsorship of Visual Color, a division of McKenna Labs, a full packet of pictures including 8 x 10, 5 x 7, and wallet pictures are given to each child free of charge. Another sponsor, Great Clips, styles the hair of each student before their picture is taken and provides each student with a comb or brush to take home. This community service project is coordinated by Karen Shell and Dean Stevenson, TEOE photographers.
February 2008: 1st TEOE Exchange with the Philippines
TEOE photographers Bob Rink and Ken Ross traveled to Baguio to photograph the city of Baguio and the surrounding towns to complete the photographic exchange with the Philippines.

In April, 2007, Art Holeman and Colleen Miniuk-Sperry visited Japan to photograph life in that country, with special emphasis on the festivals and activities associated with cherry blossom viewing (Hanami) in our sister city of Himeji. Himeji photographers Itsuko Azuma and Yasushi Ienaga traveled to Phoenix later in April to photograph events in Phoenix and the landscapes of Arizona. The exhibit will feature 20 prints from each photographer.
November 2007: 1st TEOE Exchange with the Philippines
Photographers Dave Leprozo and Ruel Bimuyag of Baguio, the Philippines arrived in Phoenix to take pictures for the first photographic exchange with Philippine photographers. TEOE photographers Bob Rink and Ken Ross hosted their guests and assisted as they photographed the life and landscape of Arizona. Rink and Ross will travel to Baguio in February 2008 to photograph this city of 250,000 in the northern mountains of Luzon, about 150 miles from Manila.

5th TEOE Exchange with Mexico Exhibition
In February, Through Each Others Eyes photographers Dennis Scully and Maurice Sartirana traveled to Hermosillo, Kino Bay, Guaymas, Álamos, and the villages along the Sonora River to capture life in our Mexican sister state of Sonora. In late May, Hermosillo photographer Antonio Rodriguez traveled to Arizona to photograph the northern landscape as well as events in Phoenix and the Valley. The exhibit displays 25 prints from each photographer.
